# Native Restaking

Refers to directing the withdrawal process of an Ethereum Validator node to EigenLayer’s smart contracts, specifically EigenPod. Participation in Native Restaking requires the operation of an Ethereum Validator node. Involves depositing natively staked ETH tokens into the EigenLayer smart contracts.
